De-Stressing Tools

De-stressing Tools

● Environment: Love. The place where you heal is very important.

Surround yourself with anything that brings love and joy to your heart-

perhaps beautiful flowers, or pictures of your friends and family.

Watch uplifting, happy movies, go outside, and breathe some fresh

air, and bask in the sunshine, if possible.

● Exercise: A simple but vital tool of our body. We are designed to

move; you’ve heard the saying, “Use it or lose it.” This statement is

accurate. Exercise boosts serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine,

lifts depression, builds self-esteem, and creates more growth

hormones to rebuild new cells.

● Deep Breathing: While breathing deeply, pay attention to your breath-

inhale and exhale slowly with intention to slow your heart rate. Deep

breathing is good for balancing the sympathetic (fight-or-flight) and

parasympathetic (rest-and-relax) branches of the nervous system.

● Alternate Nostril Breathing (Nadi Shodhan Pranayama): This

technique harmonizes the two hemispheres of the brain, while

balancing mental, physical, and emotional well-being.

● Yoga: Find a yoga practice that you like. The benefits are endless; it

reduces stress, pain, insomnia, and depression. It increases muscle

mass, energy, vitality, and flexibility, allowing you to achieve an

overall benefit of well-being.

● EFT: This is a form of energy psychology, where you stimulate

acupuncture points and increase the energy flow in your body in

order to maintain optimal health. For more info, go to

www.emofree.com or www.thetappingsolution.com.

● Meditation: Any and all varieties of meditation can be beneficial. Find

the one that resonates with you: mindfulness, meditation, waking

meditation, TM , etc. Even 1-2 minutes a day is better than nothing.

● Heart Math: Scientifically monitors your emotional and physical

health, helping you improve it. www.heartmath.com

● Grounding/Earthing: One of the most powerful, overlooked, and

underestimated powers of healing on all levels. Free and available to

all, www.earthing.com or www.grounded.com.

● Binaural Beats: Sound therapy that creates complete balance

between both brain hemispheres and creates therapeutic effects.

● Music/Sound: Find music you enjoy that relaxes you; it will have a

healing effect.

● Transcutaneous Acupuncture: Created by Norman Shealy, M.D., Ph.

D., this technique employs energetic acupuncture circuits that help

balance elemental energies in the body. This simple yet powerful tool

will naturally produce important hormones like oxytocin, DHEA, and

calcitonin.

● Herbs & Supplements: Promotes calming and healing effects:

○ Magnesium Lotion and Epsom Salt

○ Ashwagandha

○ Tulsi or Holy Basil

○ Neem
